About Nick
Nick Calabro is a Principal, Senior Vice President, and Broker who specializes in construction with a focus on residential trade contractors. He can also secure coverage for hospitality and real estate. He enjoys the challenging and competitive nature of the insurance industry, describing it as a career of constant learning. He leads with transparency, valuing the trust and relationships he has built and always works to provide the best solutions to clients. Nick is an active member of Brown & Riding’s national Construction Practice, a group of seasoned professionals specializing in all areas of construction. This group combines deep industry knowledge, strong market relationships, and streamlined service to provide top-tier support for clients across every major construction sector in the United States. Nick’s team focuses on finding comprehensive coverage for construction accounts that are hard-to-place due to residential exposure and/or tough loss experience.
With over 14 years of industry experience, Nick joined Brown & Riding in 2025 and became a shareholder within his first year at the company. Before B&R, he previously worked as a casualty broker at another wholesaler. He began his insurance career in 2011 after graduating college, encouraged by family friends in the industry.
Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the Herbert Wertheim College of Business at Florida State University. He frequently attends the WSIA Annual Marketplace. Outside of work, Nick is also active in his community. He currently serves on the board of directors of Open Hearts for Orphans and enjoys golfing and fishing with family and friends.
