About George
George Sella is a true specialist in Construction and Real Estate with a focus on Project Specific business. He is the leader of Brown & Riding’s national Construction Practice, a knowledgeable and dedicated team of experts throughout the country, specializing in Casualty, Property, Environmental, and Professional Liability. He is responsible for overseeing the continued development of the practice, facilitating collaboration across disciplines, guiding strategic growth, and fostering talent within the practice. The group is adept at placing General Liability and Excess Liability policies (including annual, Project Specific, OCIP/CCIP, and Builder’s Risk) and commercial and residential wrap-ups.
Over the years, George has worked on hundreds of projects and continues to prove he is an invaluable talent within the industry. He has been heavily involved with the placement of projects nationwide, ranging from industrial plants, highway expansion projects, museum expansions and remodel work, hotel and mixed-use projects, as well as condo and apartment projects across the country. He is constantly expanding his industry knowledge and stays abreast of changes in the legal climate. He attributes his success to hard work and prioritizing the growth and evolution of individuals on his team, his specialization, and the industry as a whole.
After graduating with a double major in Risk Management & Insurance and Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi, George joined B&R in 2010. He began in an entry-level position and progressed quickly, becoming a Broker within three years. In 2015, he became a Principal as well as the youngest shareholder in the company at that time. In 2025, he served as the Construction Practice’s co-leader, alongside Chris Brown.
