Brown & Riding is pleased to announce that Chris Bading has been named National Property Practice Leader. Chris joined Brown & Riding as a Property Broker in 2010 and was named Principal in 2014.

Chris has deep and extensive knowledge of the property sector and continues to demonstrate his undeniable talent and innate ability to navigate market challenges as well as distressed and truly unique accounts. His expertise, proven ability to develop highly specialized products, and strong carrier relationships will only continue to expand and further strengthen the firm in his new position.

According to his predecessor, Guy Rawlins, who has served as the firm’s National Property Practice Leader since 2014, “Chris is highly qualified for the National Property Practice Leader role, with his exceptional work ethic, growing roster of agents, and the strong respect of our key carrier partners. Agents value his deep technical expertise, especially in construction and real estate, and carriers trust his knowledge, integrity, and the time and diligence he puts into fully understanding each account, so they can provide the best and most accurate terms. I have worked closely with Chris for the last several years, and he will fit seamlessly into this role whilst taking our property practice to the next level.”

To further Rawlins’s comments, Shaida Monshi, the firm’s original National Property Practice Leader, adds, “when Chris first joined B&R, he quickly built relationships with underwriters and was constantly inquiring and expanding his knowledge to build his construction and real estate expertise. He has always exemplified leadership, offering help to his peers, and has always looked for ways to help the company improve. I am very excited to see him in this role and looking forward to his continued support and contribution to the team and B&R.”

B&R’s property practice is known to be among the best in the industry with great attention to underwriting principles and coverage analysis. Both industry veterans, Monshi and Rawlins, have made significant contributions to the group’s continued success and development. Monshi, a Principal of the firm, has worked in the insurance industry for over 35 years and joined Brown & Riding in 1996, launching the firm’s property practice to national acclaim. She was instrumental in developing the quality standards for the group, leading to a high professional reputation in the marketplace. After passing the torch to Rawlins in 2014, she has continued to lead a successful team with a highly profitable book of business.

Rawlins has been a successful property wholesale broker for over 20 years and has well over 30 years’ experience in the industry, spanning underwriting, reinsurance, and wholesale insurance broking. He has been a Broker with Brown & Riding since 2008 and a Principal of the firm since 2010. He continues to manage a highly successful book of business while continuing his ongoing support, mentorship, and being a knowledge resource for the property department and B&R.
