About Sawyer
Sawyer Welnak currently serves as Senior Vice President, Operations at Brown & Riding, where he works closely with executive leadership on firm-wide operational, technology, and compliance priorities. His work focuses on strengthening operational execution, supporting production teams, advancing systems and process improvement, and helping position the firm for continued growth.
Sawyer began his insurance career in underwriting in 2016 before moving into wholesale brokerage. He joined Brown & Riding in 2018 and transitioned into operations in 2021. He was named a Principal and Senior Vice President in 2024. Sawyer holds a degree in finance and is currently pursuing his MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management. He has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Insurance Data Analytics (AIDA) designations.
