About Omar
Omar Hasan is a Senior Vice President and Broker in Brown & Riding’s National Property Practice, with a focus on commercial property placements and strategic risk solutions for middle-market and large commercial accounts. He specializes in commercial real estate, habitational, hospitality, gaming, retail, industrial, builder’s risk, CAT-exposed property, and complex layered programs. His team also has experience managing hotel and restaurant programs. Omar operates with a client-first approach, emphasizing work ethic and integrity. His team will grind and hustle a deal down to the last second to deliver the most competitive rates. Omar’s established relationships with market partners give him an edge when finding the best possible solutions for clients’ needs. His market knowledge, responsiveness, and dedication to execution have made him a trusted partner among clients, carriers, and colleagues alike.
Drawing on more than two decades of underwriting and brokerage experience, Omar has built a reputation for delivering innovative insurance structures for challenging property risks across a broad range of industries. He began his career in 2007 after earning a B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance from The University of Georgia. Before becoming a broker, he worked as an underwriter at CNA for five years. Prior to joining Brown & Riding, he spent two years working at Bridge Specialty and 12 years as executive vice president at RT Specialty, finding coverage solutions for property, DIC, and Inland Marine.
In 2011, Omar earned his CPCU designation while underwriting at CNA. He regularly attends industry events with IRMI and WSIA. While at RT Specialty, he was two-time winner of the Patrick G. Ryan Award for revenue growth. He has spoken at the Gamma Iota Sigma conference and at several retailer-sponsored risk control summits. A lifelong Atlanta resident, Omar is a proud supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and all of Atlanta’s professional sports teams. He enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
