About Jack
Jack O’Donnell is a Principal, Senior Vice President, and National Construction Professional Liability Practice Leader. He oversees a team of true specialists with expertise in Contractors, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Real Estate Developer’s Professional Liability. With 20 years of experience in underwriting and brokering, Jack brings both leadership and product expertise to the firm. He is well-suited to advise clients on the needs of individual insureds while advocating for both claims and proper contractual wording with owners and sub-consultants. He works with some of the largest US-based contractors and has placed professional policies for some of the largest US construction projects in recent years.
After spending 10 years as an underwriter and marketing director for the United States Liability Insurance Group owned by Berkshire Hathaway, Jack joined Brown & Riding as Broker in 2017. He became a company Principal in 2022 and was appointed National Construction Professional Liability Practice Leader in 2026.
Jack is a proud graduate of Penn State University and holds several insurance designations including a Registered Professional Liability Underwriting degree. He was named one of Insurance Business America’s Top Specialist Brokers in 2023 and is actively involved in public speaking and teaching continuing education classes. Jack is the proud father of four children and lives in northern California with his wife Alicia.
