About Evan
Evan Schmidt is a property broker specializing in real estate, construction, and public entity risks. He began his insurance career in 2019 and joined Brown & Riding in 2022, bringing a unique background from the film industry, where he worked as a professional photographer and videographer before transitioning into insurance.
He was originally drawn to the opportunity and relationship-driven nature of the insurance industry. He is a graduate of Brown & Riding’s Rainmaker program, an initiative designed for high-potential talent with a proven track record of leadership and a desire to become brokers, and became an Assistant Vice President in 2023.
Evan holds the Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) designation and is actively involved in various industry organizations, including Young Risk Professionals, IICF, and IIAB chapters in Arizona, California, and Texas. Evan regularly attends WSIA’s annual marketplace, and he has previously served a three-year term on the California Association of Insurance Professionals (CAIP) charity board.
Evan takes a collaborative approach to his work and enjoys working closely with clients to help them navigate the marketplace appropriately and find the best solution for their needs.
