About Dawn
Dawn Gordon is a Principal, Senior Vice President, and Broker who specializes in real estate, CAT perils, parametric solutions, and complex shared and layered programs. She is well-known for her enthusiasm for the insurance industry, her innovation within the parametric space, and her depth of knowledge of the Florida property market.
With over 35 years of industry experience, Dawn began her insurance career on the carrier side where she held positions as a property underwriter, marketing representative, underwriting director, and sales director before transitioning to wholesale. She joined Brown & Riding in 2017 and became a company shareholder in 2022.
Dawn has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, and her industry expertise has twice been featured in the Rough Notes annual Florida Special Report. She is an active member of the Florida Surplus Lines Association and the WSIA Events Committee, where she remains engaged in advancing the wholesale insurance industry.
Committed to serving both her profession and her community, Dawn participates in charitable initiatives with IICF and previously served for eight years as president of Toastmasters, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals build confidence and strengthen their communication skills. She also volunteers her time in support of local organizations and community initiatives.
