David Chipp has built a career as a Casualty product specialist and focuses on General Liability, Auto, and Excess Liability. Industries of expertise include Construction, Transportation, Real Estate, Products Liability, and Environmental. David is a dedicated problem solver that brings a hands-on approach to the marketing process. He values collaborating with his team of experts to build customized insurance solutions for his clients.
David has 25 years of experience in the insurance industry with nearly 20 years of experience in wholesale brokerage. He has been a Principal of Brown & Riding since 2019 and joined the firm in 2016. He has worked on the wholesale side as a casualty broker since 2005 and began his insurance career in 1999 by working for a national MGU while attending San Diego State University. After graduating with a business degree in finance in 2005, David moved into a sales role with the MGU’s wholesale division as a high-net-worth personal lines broker. In 2007, he transitioned to commercial lines where he has grown his client portfolio year over year.
David was recognized as a Top Specialist Broker by Insurance Business America in both 2018 and 2024. Additionally, he has been featured in an Insurance Business America article discussing the importance of young talent entering the insurance industry and also participated as a featured panelist at the 2023 HUB Agribusiness & Food Practice Summit. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, raising his two daughters, golfing, barbecuing, and snowboarding.
