About David
David Chipp is a Principal, Senior Vice President, Broker, and Brown & Riding’s Agribusiness Practice Leader and has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 20 years in wholesale brokerage. He built his career as a casualty product specialist, focusing on General Liability, Excess Liability, Auto, and Products Liability. His areas of expertise include construction, transportation, agribusiness, real estate, and environmental. David is a dedicated problem-solver who brings a hands-on approach to the marketing process, working with his team of experts to build customized insurance solutions for clients.
Beginning his insurance career in 1999, David first worked for a national MGU while attending San Diego State University. After graduating with a finance degree in 2005, David moved to a sales role in the MGU’s wholesale division as a high-net-worth personal lines broker. In 2007, he transitioned to commercial lines where he has grown his client portfolio year over year. After joining B&R as a Broker in 2016, he was appointed Principal and Senior Vice President in 2019. He founded the firm’s Agribusiness Practice in 2026.
David was recognized as a Top Specialist Broker by Insurance Business America (IBA) in both 2018 and 2024, and his industry insights have been featured by IBA in an article discussing the importance of young talent entering the insurance industry. He has also shared his expertise as a featured panelist at the 2023 HUB Agribusiness & Food Practice Summit. In his free time, David enjoys traveling, golfing, barbecuing, snowboarding, and raising his two daughters.
