About Daniel
Daniel Filbey is a Principal, Senior Vice President, and Broker who leads a team of highly experienced professionals that place property risks where the standard marketplace cannot provide coverage. He specializes in finding solutions for real estate developers and owners, habitational and construction risks, standalone CAT perils (earthquake, flood, wind, and wildfire), and public entity accounts. Additionally, Daniel serves as Co-Leader of Brown & Riding’s Rainmaker program, an initiative designed to foster growth and support for aspiring brokers.
A consistent high performer, Daniel was named as a winner of the 2024 Break Out Awards presented by Business Insurance and has also been recognized by Insurance Business America as one of the Hot 100 for 2026. Daniel began his insurance career by joining Brown & Riding in 2016 in an entry level position and quickly progressed to Broker in only two years’ time. He was named Assistant Vice President in 2020 and became a company shareholder and Senior Vice President in 2022.
Daniel has been a member of the California Association of Insurance Professionals (CAIP) since 2018 and was a Board Member of the organization from 2019-2022. In 2021, he was a Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB) Broker Smackdown Regional winner, and his team then went on to win the 2022 CIAB National Broker Smackdown. Daniel is a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management & Insurance and also has a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
