About Bill
Bill Lally began working in the insurance industry in 2011 and has been focused on the property sector throughout his career. He is an expert at handling tough property risks and specializes in real estate, construction, builder’s risk, public entity, and marine risks. A Chicago native, Bill moved to the Houston, Texas area in 2018 and has since become an expert in the region. He joined Brown & Riding in 2021 as a Senior Vice President and Property Broker and became a company Principal in 2022.
Bill has six years’ previous experience working as an underwriter, giving him first-hand knowledge and finely-tuned insight into the needs of carriers. He has built strong relationships that he is able to leverage to help retailers with their insured clients’ most difficult and complex risks and has earned a reputation of being innovative and able to negotiate high-quality solutions under even the most challenging circumstances. His track record of success where other wholesalers have been unsuccessful has made him a go-to for retailers. He is highly responsive to clients and offers them valuable perspectives, insights, and market access.
Bill has held his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation since 2012, achieving this designation within one year of graduating from college with a double major in Insurance & Risk Management and also Economics. He has also previously served on the Board of the Marine Multi-Peril Society (Mariners) in Chicago, a large insurance property and marine society, from 2016 to 2018.
