Brown & Riding, a Top 10 U.S. wholesaler and specialty insurance brokerage, has announced the appointment of Mike Boseman as Chief Operating Officer. Boseman is based out of the company’s Los Angeles headquarters and will be responsible for strategic operations, including client and carrier development, enhancing information technology service offerings, and enforcing the company’s service standards and regulatory compliance. “I am honored and humbled to take on this role,” said Boseman. “I truly believe I work for the best company with the highest caliber of professionals in the business.”
Boseman joined B&R’s casualty division in 2007 before transitioning to Property Broker shortly after. In addition to growing a profitable book of property business, he has been instrumental in developing B&R’s strategic client relationships and has overseen many changes in the company, including the company’s expansion into Dallas, TX; Kansas City, MO; and Sherman Oaks, CA. Boseman became Vice President of Operations in 2015, Senior Vice President in 2016, and has played a key role in facilitating the growth of the organization. In his new role as COO, he will continue to work closely with Brown & Riding’s President and CEO, Jeff Rodriguez.
“We are excited for Mike to take on this important leadership role,” said Rodriguez. “Over the years, he has consistently delivered results and managed countless challenges, which has made us stronger as a company. His proven dedication to the industry and to Brown & Riding fully embodies our core values of teamwork, quality, and professionalism.”
Mike’s advancement exemplifies Brown & Riding’s focus on employee growth. Beginning as a Broker, his hard work and dedication to client relations and internal procedures fostered his progression, first to a company Vice President, then a shareholder, and finally an executive. His journey illustrates how promotion from within is highly supported and encouraged within the company. B&R continues to remain 100% independent, fostering a culture that rewards innovation, with a long-term perpetuation strategy that offers top professionals meaningful ownership opportunities. This focus on internal growth has allowed innovators like Mike to make great strides in specialization, expansion, and strategic client relationships without the need to answer to outside interests or investors. This has had a direct and positive impact on clients. It allows Brown & Riding to always put client interests first.
Boseman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and has also earned CIC, CRM, and AU designations.
