Brown & Riding is pleased to announce that Courtney Kerr has joined its Underwriting & Select Accounts Division as National Private Client Practice Leader, responsible for building and overseeing the firm’s Private Client strategy, facilities, and underwriting standards nationwide.
“As we continue to invest in specialty capabilities, Courtney will lead the development of our Private Client Practice, partnering with our retail brokers to navigate complex placements and deliver bespoke solutions for affluent individuals, families, and collectors,” said Cristi Carrington, Chief Distribution Officer. “Her approach aligns well with our core values of teamwork, quality, and professionalism, and we’re excited to support her in building out this important practice area.”
With over 15 years of industry experience, Kerr brings deep expertise in high-net-worth and specialty personal lines, with a particular focus on fine art, collectibles, and complex, high-value risks. She is a Lloyd’s tribunalized coverholder and a trusted partner to many U.S.-based insurers. Kerr will serve as the central underwriting authority for Brown & Riding’s Private Client Practice, shaping facility design, appetite, and underwriting approach. She is known for delivering thoughtful, tailored solutions on nuanced, high-value placements through long-standing relationships across both the U.S. and London markets.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to build and lead the Private Client Practice for Brown & Riding,” said Kerr. “Our solutions will be grounded in integrity, underwriting expertise, white-glove service, and a genuine emphasis on relationships with both clients and markets. My goal is to build a team of trusted specialty brokers and underwriters who deliver thoughtful solutions for affluent clients by collaborating with the worldwide Private Client insurer marketplace.”
