About Michael
Michael Davis began his insurance career in 2008 when he joined Brown & Riding at an entry-level position in the underwriting department. He worked his way through the ranks, building a book of business and eventually becoming Broker in 2014. He then took a position with a large retailer as a national-level Broker, which exposed him to some of the largest and most complex first-party property accounts. In 2017, he returned to Brown & Riding as a Vice President to grow and manage his own property team. He became a Principal in 2019.
Michael is a true construction specialist and plays a key role in B&R’s Construction Practice Group. He has extensive experience in complex Builder’s Risk program design, including bespoke first-party insurance programs for sophisticated vertical and horizontal construction. In conjunction with his construction expertise, he works predominantly with real estate developer-owners to create and manage shared and layered property-driven programs upon completion of development projects. These vertical placements are bolstered by his extensive background in natural catastrophe-driven placements including earthquake, flood, and named windstorm.
Michael has earned designations as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) and is a former board member and past president of the Emerging Insurance Professionals Los Angeles Chapter. He supports many charitable causes, particularly events and fundraising efforts related to the Alzheimer’s Association.
