About Christopher
Christopher Welty skillfully manages the Human Resource needs of Brown & Riding, a growing company of over 400 employees. He began working for the firm in early 2007 as an HR Assistant, was promoted to HR Coordinator less than 6 months later, and then named Assistant Vice President in 2009. He became Vice President in 2014, Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources in 2017, and then Principal and Chief Human Resources Officer in 2019.
During his tenure, Christopher has seen B&R more than quadruple in growth. He helped successfully integrate the company through two mergers and has been a strong advocate for many of the company’s important benefit plan enhancements for more than a decade. He excels at collaboration and has been a key contributor in establishing and promoting the company’s culture and offering programs and opportunities to help employees.
Christopher continues his work in the insurance industry outside of his role at B&R. He currently sits on the Gamma Iota Sigma Advisory Council, which he joined in October 2024. The Advisory Council collaborates with the GIS Board of Trustees to encourage students to pursue careers in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science.
