Brown & Riding recognized as a leading U.S. wholesaler, 11 years running

Since 2014, Brown & Riding has been named as one of the Top 10 Largest Property/Casualty Wholesalers in the nation by Business Insurance. Each year, wholesalers are ranked based on the previous year’s wholesale premium volume, and companies must derive 50% or more of this premium from wholesale brokerage to be considered. Brown & Riding stands out with over 98% of business as a wholesale broker, higher than any other company listed.

Brown & Riding was founded in 1980, making the firm the longest-standing major (Top 10) wholesale broker in the United States. One of B&R’s unique characteristics is that the firm continues to experience significant ongoing organic growth while remaining truly independent. B&R is 100% owned and managed by key employees and currently has over 50 shareholders. Brokers own approximately 60% of the company with the remaining shares being owned by key individuals who are actively serving in executive leadership roles. By the end of this decade, it’s projected that brokers will own more than 75% of Brown & Riding stock.
