For the fifth year in a row, Brown & Riding has been recognized as a “Five-Star Wholesale Broker.”
Insurance Business America (IBA) has recognized B&R as a 2021 “Five-Star Wholesale Broker.” This award is based entirely on feedback from retailers, and B&R has once again earned the Five-Star rating in all categories. This achievement earns B&R the additional “All-Star” designation, a special title introduced by IBA in 2019 for any company receiving the Five-Star designation in every category. 2021 marks our third consecutive year earing the All-Star rating.
In previous years, wholesalers and MGAs were ranked in eight categories. There were 10 Five-Star rating categories this year, which are listed in order of importance (as ranked by retailers).

- Technical expertise and product knowledge
- Ability to place niche or emerging risks – new category
- Range of products
- Reputation – new category
- Pricing – new category
- Marketing support
- Compensation
- Technology / automation
- Geographical reach – new category
To earn the recognition, producers were asked to rate wholesale brokers on a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (excellent) in 8 different service categories. Wholesalers who received an average score of eight or higher earned the Five-Star recognition. We are very proud to once again earn this designation.
