B&R maintains independence and continues strong leadership
Los Angeles, CA – March 2018
Brown & Riding is proud to announce the election of Tim Pedersen, Sr. as Vice Chairman of the Board. “I am honored to be elected and to take on this role,” said Pedersen. “The firm has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years, and I’d like to continue to help us evolve and be effective.”
Previous to Brown & Riding, Tim was Co-founder of Travis-Pedersen and Associates and a driving force behind the company’s success. Throughout his over 40 years in the insurance industry, he has shown a nonstop drive for business, a firm sense of initiative, and the ability to find opportunities, maximizing them to their full potential. He is a former President of NAPSLO (now WSIA) and has served on many different agent advisory councils. He has developed strong relationships and a stellar reputation with carriers and retailers alike.
In December 2012, Tim solidified his relationship with Brown & Riding when the two companies merged. “I was initially drawn to Brown & Riding because we had a lot in common,” said Tim, “particularly our goals, philosophies, and values.” According to Chris Brown, B&R Chairman, “Sometimes mergers can be a bumpy road, but our common values, culture, and vision for the future created a near seamless transition in combining Travis-Pedersen and Brown & Riding. Tim’s leadership and wealth of experience have been key strengths, not only through the merger, but also in the company’s continued development.”
Jeff Rodriguez, President and CEO also commented, “We are very fortunate to have such a strong relationship with Tim and are grateful that he plans to stay with us for the foreseeable future. Tim has been a mentor and coach, and also a good friend to Chris [Brown] and me. His knowledge and expertise continue to be invaluable.”
Brown & Riding remains truly independent with a corporate culture that fosters success. The company is 100% employee owned and managed, with no outside ownership or debt. There is no need to answer to outside investors or interests, so the clients’ needs always come first. According to Pedersen, “I’ve been working with Brown & Riding for the past 5 years and am excited to continue supporting our owner-operated model and continued growth. This company was built on the values of teamwork, quality, and professionalism, and we all have strong mentors who came before us and shared these beliefs. So, we know the values we have as our foundation are the values that work.”
