ISO Certification
In 2003, Brown & Riding became the first wholesale insurance brokerage in the United States to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification.
To earn the certification, we implemented a powerful quality management system (QMS). The QMS is dedicated to excellence, continual improvement, and meeting and exceeding our clients’ expectations. The driving principles of the ISO process are:
- Customer focus
- Leadership
- Involvement of people
- Process approach
- System approach to management
- Continual improvement
- Factual approach to decision making
- Mutually beneficial supplier relationships
To achieve and maintain the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 certification requires an independent audit of our QMS every six months. We also conduct regular internal audits throughout the year.
What does it mean to you?
Our quality objectives and internal policies have a clear focus on teamwork and ensuring that we bring the power of the whole firm to our client relationships. The stringent standards support an across-the-board consistency in the way we work with you.
Some of the improvements we have made based on client feedback and our QMS include:
- A client-focused internet marketing portal that directly addresses the need for retail brokers to know the status of their submissions, 24/7. The portal is simple to use and keeps everyone in the loop at all times.
- A reliability process to manage the submission lifecycle. It begins with your B&R team pre-qualifying the account and collaboratively building a project plan that includes agreed upon expectations and deadlines for completion. Our goals throughout the submission lifecycle are to understand your needs, make appropriate recommendations, seek appropriate placements and continually manage expectations so there are no surprises.
